Research

I am an evolutionary ecologist squarely focused on the evolution of human social cognition and human social behavior.  Although I take evolutionary ecology as an overarching framework, my research draws from anthropology, economics, psychology, and sociology.

I am in the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Lausanne.  I am also an affiliated member of the Centre for Experimental Social Sciences at Nuffield College in Oxford and the Center for Child Well-Being and Development at the University of Zurich.

I routinely mix modeling with the analysis of both experimental and observational data. I have conducted fieldwork, laboratory experiments, and on-line experiments in Armenia, Brazil, Bolivia, Germany, Sudan, Switzerland, and the United States.
